Typeface Exploration
Lounge ia an exploration and research project into how shapes that can be extracted from everyday-objects can often resemble letter forms. This sans-serif typeface explores this notion through a study of chairs, with a special focus on the D42 Weißenhof Armchair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in 1926. By utilising the curves of the D42 Armchair, Lounge takes these curves and transforms them into letters and symbols that then become legible and understandable as a typeface.
